About Your Couples Counselor

Welcome!

I know change can be difficult and starting something new, such as counseling, can be nerve wracking. My goal is to support you every step of the way through your relationship journey, and help you enrich and strengthen your connection with your partner.

While I enjoy working with couples at any stage in their relationship, I have a special interest in working with pre-marital couples. As a certified Prepare Enrich facilitator, I can help you and your partner be proactive in addressing any future concerns that might arise in your marriage.

A Modern & Effective Approach

My Premarital Counseling course uses a combination of the three clinically proven methods below. Traditional couples counseling may use one approach and take a lengthy period of time to complete. My course uses the best components of each of the three methods for a set number of 10 sessions, to make sure you experience the most efficient and effective approach.

 

.1. Prepare Enrich Method 

The leading relationship inventory and assessment tool with proven high validity.Goal: designed to improve skills such as communication and conflict resolution.Pros: structured to fit each couples unique stage of life and relationship dynamic.

 

2. Gottman Method

Created by the worlds largest research institute of couples and relationships.Goal: learn to say goodbye to the Four Horseman (criticism, contempt, defensiveness, stonewalling).Pros: learn to turn towards while creating shared meaning & goals in your relationship.

 

3. Emotion Focused Method

The most effective approach for couples with concerns regarding infidelity, depression, grief, and trauma.Goal: identify and prevent negative repetitive interactions that get in the way of connecting.Pros: learn to become responsive to your partner's needs and resolve conflict.


Outside The Office...

 

My life mantra is about balance!
 

When I’m outside the office, I enjoy spending my time on the lake, practicing yoga, reading a good book or trying out a new coffee shop! Growing up in a military family, I spent my early life immersed in a different culture overseas, so I love to travel to new places and try different kinds of food whenever I get the chance.
